I am willing to critique resumes and reels, give insight on the best way to cover stories or point people in the right direction for how to search for specific information within the courts, submittings FOIA and public record requests, etc.

Biography

Kayla Solomon joined the FOX13 Memphis news team in 2021 as a General Assignement and Government Reporter. She was promoted to be the station's lead Investigative Reporter in 2023,

Since being promoted to the Investigative role, Solomon has covered two trials for the former Memphis Police officers charged in the death of Tyre Nichols, presented findings from records requests to elected officials to force accountability, and led our redistricting coverage to explain to people the significance of redrawn Congressional maps in Tennessee.

Solomon previously worked as an MMJ/Reporter in Macon, GA, for three years before moving to Memphis.

She's a proud Temple University Klein School of Communications alum and is also the co-chair of the National Association of Black Journalists' Young Black Journalists Task Force.
