Tibisay Zea

Latin America correspondent@The World

What I can offer as a mentor

I offer mentorship grounded in my experience as a foreign correspondent with The World and as an audio journalist and podcast host. Reporting across Latin America, I’ve covered complex cross-border issues—from public health to migration—while producing stories under challenging conditions. As co-producer and host of SALUD, a Spanish-language podcast on healthcare, I bring hands-on experience in narrative audio storytelling, from pitching and reporting to scripting, interviewing, and editing. I can support mentees in developing strong audio narratives, reporting internationally, and working bilingually in English and Spanish. I’m also happy to advise on building sources, navigating logistics and ethics in foreign reporting, and shaping stories for global audiences. I’m especially interested in mentoring journalists looking to grow in audio, podcasting, and international reporting, particularly those from underrepresented backgrounds.
